So much has happened in the past week!

I finally got to meet Dominic’s extended family (they were all in town), and I was a little nervous, but we ended up just loving each other! I’m a big family girl, and it’s really important for me to get along with my boyfriend’s family. The only bad part is, since his family stayed at his house up until I left for the summer (to go back to my parents’ house), we really didn’t get to spend as much one on one time as I would have liked. I am a total love sponge, and my poor boyfriend, bless his heart, indulges me asking for kisses every second, saying “Look at this! Look at that!” whenever we go out in public (for those of you that watch Duck Dynasty, we are totally Phil and Kay), and just basically requiring a lot of attention.

We are now long distance (separated by 200 miles) until school starts again, but like I said in my last post, I’m not worried at all. I know he loves me like crazy and would never leave me, plus we are texting and talking on the phone all the time. We are hopefully going to be able to visit in about a month (fingers crossed!!!). I love him so much, that it honestly feels incomplete without him and like a part of me is missing. I am trying to stay incredibly busy so I will forget how much I miss him. It’s not really working.

On the way up from Tucson, I stopped in Phoenix to get my new dog. She is a 7 year old yellow lab that I rescued, and was primarily neglected for the past 3 years. She is so loving and sweet and I’m so excited to have her in my life.

This summer, I am working at the Victoria’s Secret up here, trying to keep up with my crazy family, and taking a class during June & July to try to shorten my course load.

Long Distance Round 2

My boyfriend and I are long distance whenever I have a break from school (summer, Christmas, spring), and they all suck, but summer is definitely the worst. Because it’s the longest, obviously. Tomorrow I’m getting up and going home for the summer, and I couldn’t even spend tonight with him or see him tomorrow. We see each other almost every day, so the next few days are going to be no fun.

Now that I’ve done this a few times, I’ve got a few more tools in my arsenal to combat it. I know that the first 3-7 days are the hardest, and sometimes I cry because I miss him so much and I won’t be able to see him for a month or more. Is that pathetic? I don’t care. Next, I’ve got my job lined up (I’m a seasonal associate at Victoria’s Secret, and I’m apparently so good that they ask me to work whenever I have a break from school, or are just up for a weekend), and a summer class. It took me a long time to learn this the hard way, but long distance in your relationship gives you a unique opportunity to focus on and pursue other areas in your life because you have to, or you’ll be moping around all the time. I’m purposely giving myself distractions so that I won’t do that!

We also set a date to see each other before I left, so I do have something to look forward to. I love my family so much, but Dom is my boyfriend, and best friend. We’ve made it through so much, and we’re soulmates. It doesn’t feel good to be separated from your soulmate :(

Tonight I had to come back to my apartment instead of staying with him tonight and cuddling, and we said goodbye for the next few weeks. I am the biggest baby, I was crying on his shoulder while he was hugging me, and we did all our little inside jokes and things. I tend to have this problem where I just weep when I get emotional. Happy or sad. And my boyfriend, bless his heart, just puts up with it. So I’m all sniffly, and alone, and going to bed. Goodnight.
